Divine Child Senior Secondary School (CBSE) celebrated World Environment Day with great enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility under the theme “Educate the Society.” The celebration aimed to inspire students and the community to protect the environment through awareness and meaningful action.The day began with a special morning assembly dedicated to the environment. Students presented an inspiring introduction highlighting the significance of World Environment Day, followed by a thought-provoking speech on environmental conservation. The assembly also included a melodious environmental hymn and an oath, where students pledged to protect nature, conserve resources, and adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.To spread awareness creatively, every class prepared colourful and informative posters carrying powerful environmental messages and slogans. The posters reflected the students’ understanding of environmental issues and their commitment to building a greener future.Students also brought saplings and plants from home as a symbol of their dedication towards a sustainable environment. A vibrant Environment Awareness Rally was organised in the nearby locality, where students carried posters and raised slogans encouraging people to protect nature, reduce pollution, and plant more trees.
As a part of the outreach programme, students distributed plants to residential societies near the school, encouraging residents to nurture greenery in their surroundings. Saplings were also gifted to nearby shopkeepers, fruit vendors, police personnel, and passers-by, spreading the message that protecting the environment is everyone’s responsibility.In a heartwarming initiative, students honoured and educated the social helpers who contribute to society every day, including housemaids, watchmen, and support staff. They presented them with plants and explained the importance of planting and caring for trees, making them active participants in the mission to create a greener tomorrow.The celebration concluded with the message that environmental protection begins with individual action. Through awareness, participation, and community involvement, the students of Divine Child Senior Secondary School demonstrated that even small steps can make a significant difference in preserving our planet.
