Annual Sports Meet 2015-16
Divine Child CBSE, celebrated its 3rd Annual Sports Meet on 9th January, 2016. The Annual Sports meet was inaugurated by our Chief Guest Mr. Ignatius D’souza. The Chief Guest was welcomed and given the guard of honour by the students of Std. IV. It was then followed by various events beginning with the flat races for Mont I to Std. IV. It was a delight to see our little ones run on the tracks. After the flat races, we had the students of Std. III perform Lezim Display. Throughout the display students flaunted their colourful lezims and gave a wonderful performance.
The Lezim Display was followed by creative races for the Montessori as well as Primary. Our students participated in the races such as Ball & Hurdle, Garland Making; Pop the ball in the bucket, Ball through the hurdle & Pyramid Race. These lo races were followed by a wonderful Display of colourful butterflies by our tiny tots of Mont II & III. The Butterfly Display was then followed by another set of event like Balancing the ball, Little Chefs, Selective Marketing, Topsy Turvy Ball and balancing a T.T ball over an upside down basket on the head.
After these races was the most awaited Dragon Display by our students of Std. I & II. The display took us to a far off distant land of China. We then had Hurdle and Relay races for students of Std. III & IV. All these events were marked house wise & each of the winners got a certificate and also contributed to the success of their respective houses. The Hurdle and Relay races were followed by Finger Power and Thirsty Bottle races.
Our students also participated in the Martial Arts Display & showed us some amazing self defence techniques. The Martial Arts Display was then followed by Staff Race & Parent Race. It was a thrill to see the chief guest and teachers and parents also equally excited about their races as the students. There was also a separate race for the non- teaching staff. The programme ended by a vote of thanks by Sr.Fiona followed by the National Anthem.
