Parenting isn’t a noun, but a verb- an ongoing process instead of an accomplishment. And that no matter how many years you put into the job the learning curve is, well, fairly flat. - Anonymous
Raising kids is one of the toughest and most fulfilling jobs in the world — and the one for which parents might feel the least prepared. Keeping this in mind Divine Child Senior Secondary School, CBSE held a Workshop on Effective Parenting for parents of Montessori section. The workshop was conducted by our School Counselor, Kruti J Gala and she spoke about how parents can boost their child’s self esteem, how they can discipline their children by setting limits and being consistent with them. She also spoke about how important it is for parents to make time for their children apart from doing homework or studies, to be good role models for the children as children learn a lot by observing and modeling behaviors.
The workshop also focused on being flexible and willing to adjust their parenting style as times are changing and so are children and their behaviour. Last but not the least it spoke about showering unconditional love and knowing our limitations as parents and not feeling guilty for not being able to give time to the children but ensuring that they do their best. The workshop was very much appreciated by the parents and they seemed to have learnt a lot.
